Breathe.
Breathe. Sounds simple right? Yet, so many of us are “stuck” holding our breaths or breathing in patterns that are actually restricting our energy and leaving our physical body in pain from “gripping” , “clenching”, and creating holding patterns where pain and stress accumulate. Clients are often shocked when they realize how subtle changes in how they are breathing can significantly influence their overall sense of wellness. This is one reason why every single thing I teach includes breathing practices. Why else?
BREATH IS LIFE. NO BREATH = NO LIFE. So Let us learn to breathe well and live well! <Insert tip: Now go Play one of my favorite songs… Breathe (2AM) by Anna Nalick, to get you all jazzed up and in the mood to explore your breath with me!)
Breathwork is defined as the conscious control of breathing to achieve specific outcomes such as:
reducing stress and anxiety
releasing trauma and emotional blockages
improving focus
increasing energy
enhancing overall physical health and resilience!!!! ⬅ that right there, if nothing else…. we can physically improve our odds of surviving things like, oh let’s say a global pandemic that was attacking airways, by being intentional about breathing!
Finally, if you are interested in exploring breath from the Yoga perspective, we can absolutely do that. In Yoga we refer to Breathwork as “PRANAYAMA”. This includes a variety of practices and methods for enhancing our life-force (prana) via skillfully and intentionally working with the breath. These practices are customizable for your specific health need or energetically to bring inner harmony.
